JACQUES 2CV

Our French Citroën 2CV A Taste of France on the Upper East Side
When you visit Jacques Brasserie in the Upper East Side of New York City, you’ll notice a little piece of France parked right outside: our charming Citroën 2CV.
The Citroën 2CV (Deux Chevaux) is one of the most recognizable French cars ever built. Introduced in 1948, it was designed to bring people together simple, practical, and full of character. For decades, this little car rolled through villages and city streets across France, becoming a true symbol of French life and culture.
We brought our 2CV to Manhattan to share more than just French cuisine; we wanted to create a connection to French history and style. Just as our restaurant has been serving authentic French dishes for 30 years , the 2CV represents tradition, charm, and the joie de vivre that defines both French dining and French culture.
Many of our guests stop to take photos with the 2CV before enjoying their meal. It’s not just a car, it’s a conversation piece, a slice of history, and a warm welcome to our corner of France in New York City.
So whether you’re here for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or simply to enjoy one of the best French bistros in the Upper East Side, don’t forget to look for the little Citroën waiting out front. It’s our way of saying bienvenue.
